Quick — I’m Geeking OUT

This morning I was riding the train; dressed my running clothes, reading Runner’s World, carrying my school supplies and a change of clothes in my big-triathlon bag from TYR, and balancing a cup of coffee in a tervis tumbler with a runner stuck inside of it. Maybe it seems a bit overkill, but welcome to my Thursday.

Anyway, this is significant because the ITU World Championship Triathlon Finals are happening right now in downtown Chicago just across the street from my college campus, and since I was seemingly decked out in similar gear, some of the competitors approached me this morning and inquired how I was getting there.

A little surprised, I pulled my earbuds out and asked them to repeat themselves. In the end, they were only asking for directions on how to get to there from where we were — but nonetheless — I spoke with some world-class Triathletes this morning, and because of that, I’ll forever hype afternoon running Thursdays. And not only because it means I get an extra two hours of sleep.

Short post today, but I’m actually writing it in the office for SGA. I just wanted to geek out again at the fact that, even for a moment, they mistook me for one of them.

Only an hour and a half until I get to go out for my weekly speedwork!
